Did you know that there are more pet reptiles in the UK than there are pet dogs? My feature in The Spectator Magazine explains how and why this came about.
In November 1991, I was mentioned in The Spectator Magazine. It was a feature about keeping reptiles as pets. I had sold a Leopard Gecko to Spectator writer Anthony Daniels who went on to write about these fascinating and unusual creatures. Reptile keeping was just starting to become popular and I was an enthusiastic young reptile nerd just starting out in herpetology.
Over twenty tears later in a follow-up article for the Spectator, I write about my continuing work with this fascinating group of animals, documenting the rise of reptile pet keeping. From chameleons to Komodo Dragons and beyond, keeping reptiles is now a mainstream hobby.
